Cycle Fitness Bike Fit Studio
Cycling is a repetitious activity. In one hour, pedaling at 75 revolutions per minute, your feet turn a circle 4,500 times. If your bike doesn’t fit, you can experience pain, develop injuries, or be plain ole uncomfortable. A new or novice cyclist will enjoy his rides more if his bicycle is fit properly. A competitive rider will surly see improvement in his results if his bike is set up by an experienced fit technician.
Rick Beasley has been performing bicycle fits since 1983 when he worked at Zumwalts bicycle shop in San Diego. Rick is a certified Bike Fit System technician. He has been using the Bicycle Fit Kit System for over 20 years. Rick also uses video analysis to observe pedal motion and measure body angles. These combinations of experience and proper tools make him the go to guy in Fairfield County for bicycle fitting.

The Bike Fit Process
Pre-fit Interview We will ask you a series of questions regarding your style of riding, your history of injuries, and your specific cycling goals.
Flexibility Test We have a series of procedures that we use to assess how flexible you are. This will help us determine certain aspects of your position on the bike.
Structural Evaluation We perform a visual test of your hips, knees, legs, and feet. We want to see if there are any leg length discrepancies and hip alignment issues. We often need to build up a cleat to compensate for a shorter leg.
Cleat/wedge Installation As a Cyclist, you want your feet placed on your pedals in a way that is compatible with your gait. Some people walk on the outside of their feet. Some people are pigeon toed. We look at your gait, we measure your forefoot to determine what degree you need in shoe or cleat wedges. This process can noticeably straighten out a cyclist’s pedal stroke.

Video Analysis

We take motion video from front, back, and both sides. Using a power meter, cadence monitor, and heart monitor we can analyze your position using motion in a dynamic environment. Within this video we can measure your knee variations as they move through pedal stroke. We can also measure hip rock, leg angle at the top and bottom of the pedal stroke, and many more types of movement. Because we set this up in a fixed environment, we can see how your position changes when you begin to get tired. We provide a very “real world” bike fit process.
